Is FieldOp for sole traders?+
FieldOp is designed for teams doing commercial and contract work — typically 2–50 staff running PPM schedules, compliance reports, and multi-visit jobs. Sole traders can absolutely use the Free plan to grow into it, but if you only do one-off residential callouts, a simpler tool will serve you better.
What is PPM (programmed preventative maintenance)?+
PPM is scheduled, recurring maintenance on assets — quarterly TMV commissioning, six-monthly backflow tests, annual hot-water services, and so on. Instead of reacting to breakdowns, you plan the visits ahead of time under a contract and produce a compliance record for each one.
Can clients view reports without an account?+
Yes. FieldOp generates a secure link for every report. The client — usually a facilities manager — opens it in any browser, no sign-up, no app.
Do you charge setup fees or lock me into a contract?+
No and no. FieldOp is self-serve, month-to-month, cancel anytime. Unlike Simpro and AroFlo, there are no setup fees, no forced implementation packages, and no multi-year lock-ins.
Can I customise report layouts?+
